About Elizabeth Gignac

Elizabeth Gignac, DO, FACOEP serves as Clinical Chair of Emergency Medicine and Chair of Simulation and Clinical Education.

Dr. Gignac earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University College of Human Ecology and continued with her medical education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming, MI where she served as chief resident. After completing residency, Dr. Gignac practiced in the Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL where she served as assistant medical director of the emergency department.

Dr. Gignac joined Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014 as the founding program director of CUSOM’s emergency medicine residency at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She also served as assistant medical director of the UNC Southeastern emergency department and as medical director for the Emergency Medical Sciences program at Robeson Community College.

Dr. Gignac currently serves of Clinical Chair of Emergency Medicine and Chair of Simulation and Clinical Education. She continues to teach as clinical faculty at UNC Health Southeastern. Her interests include medical education, simulation, and population health.
