My research agenda bridges corpus-based genre analysis, genre-based writing pedagogy, automated writing evaluation, and computer-assisted language learning and assessment – all converging to address teaching and learning needs within the field of English for Specific Purposes. More specifically, I focus on identifying and defining language-related problems, devising theoretically-grounded computerized solutions, and empirically validating their use in ways that have direct implications for pedagogical action.
