About David Watkins

David Watkins, assistant professor in the Department of Political Science, became interested in politics at a young age. Watching news coverage of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of Eastern Europe, he said, he found it interesting how moved people were by the political power in Eastern Europe.
Interested in the influence that politics could have on people, he studied political science in college, accepted a position as a teaching assistant, and earned a doctorate.

At UD, Dr. Watkins teaches political theory and develops new courses on democracy and democratization around the world.
