Dr. Dimitrova's research focuses on Political Communication and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Professor Dimitrova's primary area of interest is cross-cultural media coverage of conflict events, such as wars and terrorist attacks. Publications about international news framing of political news events and have appeared in leading mass communication journals such as Communication Research and Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly. Since joining the Iowa State faculty, Dr. Dimitrova has published over 50 journal articles and book chapters and also co-authored a book.
