Comments
The tutorial uses a generic "advanced search" screen to teach keyword-searching concepts such as truncation, basic Boolean logic, boiling a query down to good keywords, and more.

The tutorial employs animation not to entertain but to draw attention to details that are important. Animation effects are not only useful for sprucing-up instruction: they can also make learning interesting.

The tutorial is fast. Most users go through it in minutes.

I've had some librarian colleagues complain about the tutorial's color scheme of bright blues, greens, yellows, purples, pinks, etc., against a black background. But the dark background makes the bright colors stand out. Some of the colors look downright beautiful. It is satisfying to create a work that also has an aesthetic aspect to it.

Tutorials like this were in demand before library "discovery services" became popular. Now that these discovery services are making truncation and even Boolean logic less and less necessary for users to know about, tutorials that teach such features are declining in significance. However, as every reference librarian knows, there are times when it is absolutely necessary to use a specialized database that features the traditional advanced search option with pull-down menus, truncation, etc., In such cases tutorials like this have a lot to offer.
