About Cheryle (Sherry) Dismuke

Dr. Cheryle Dismuke earned a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of Education at Boise State University in 2013, and joined the clinical faculty of the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Foundational Studies later that year. She also holds an M.A. in Education with an emphasis in reading and a B.A. in Elementary Education, both from Boise State, and an earlier B.A. in Child Development from California State University, Northridge. Her earlier experience includes work as a first-grade teacher in Boise, a science grant director/science supervisor for Boise Parks and Recreation, an art and music teacher in American Samoa, and a preschool teacher in California. Her work with the Boise School District has included leadership roles in school improvement and professional development for teachers. Dr. Dismuke's research interests include writing processes and instruction, instructional plans for twice-exceptional students, and gifted and talented education. She is an active presenter of new ideas and findings at state, regional, and national conferences.
