At Dr. Shen's research group, we are interested in developing novel functional materials and structures with embedded properties for a variety of applications. The major research areas in our lab are: 1) Acoustic metamaterials and metasurfaces; 2) Advanced manufacturing; 3) Mechanical design and optimization; 4) Artificial structures for biomedical applications including microfluidics and medical ultrasound; 5) Structural health monitoring.
