Chelsey Wilks received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Washington, clinical internship from the VA San Diego Healthcare System, and post-doctoral training as Harvard University. She also completed an internship at Microsoft Research where she received applied training in human computer interaction. Dr. Wilks' research is at the intersection of clinical psychology, computer science, and public health with the goal of reducing self-destructive behaviors through the use of technology. She has received funding from the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute, and the Harvard Foundation of Human Behavior Initiative.

She employs methods for data science and human computer interaction to investigate these topics. Finally, Dr. Wilks has extensive research and clinical training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as the assessment and management of suicidal behavior.
