About Charles H. Klein

Dr. Charles Klein's research interests include applied medical anthropology; gender/sexuality/queer theory; urban anthropology; sexual & reproductive health; social movements; non-governmental organizations; health disparities; food justice; Brazil, Latin America, and North America.

Dr. Klein recently conducted research on the efficacy of computer-delivered HIV prevention programs for African-American women, and will be researching similar programs for gay African American men. As a new member of the Anthropology Department, he is currently working on course development in the area of applied, activist and public anthropology. This summer he will conduct fieldwork in Brazil on non-governmental organizations, sexuality and food security movements.
