About Catherine H. Monaghan Ph.D.

I joined the faculty of CSU in 2004. My interests and background over the course of my career is varied and rich. I worked for over 10 years in the corporate world as an accountant, Controller, Human Resource manager and consultant. I have an MBA and a PhD in Adult Education.
My research interests include looking at the role of critical management studies (CMS) from the learner's perspective, especially concerning their development. My current research interest is focused on the development of communities of practice in business and graduate classroom settings, as well as the use of Phillip's evaluation model for training and development.
In 2011, I became the Interim Assistant Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence. I am repsonsible for faculty development to enhance student success. I developed workshops on Communities of Practice, Kolb's Learning Styles and Writing for Publication.
