About Carolina I. Viera

Dr. Carolina I. Viera joined Boise State University in 2016 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of World Languages. She received her Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of California, Davis specializing in second language acquisition, and her M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of New Mexico. Previously she was an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Roanoke College before coming to Boise State, and her research interests include sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and applied linguistics to name a few. Dr. Viera is currently a member of the Asociación de Lingüística y Filología de América Latina, The Latin American Systemic-Functional Linguistics Association, and The Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium: CALICO to name a few.
