About Carly Paro

Carly Paro, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at NSU's College of Psychology. She teaches and supervises in the mental health counseling program. Her teaching interests center around multiculturalism, group practice, ethics, counseling techniques, and supervision.  She dedicates her time in service to NSU, to the profession of counseling, and also to the community.  Her research interests include transformational pedagogy in multicultural education, clinician bias and its impact on the counseling process, and social class; understanding social class as a salient cultural variable, its intersectionality with other variables, and combating social class stigma and stereotypes.
