About Brian Belet

Dr. Belet, former Professor of Music at San Jose State University, served as Music Systems & Theory Area Coordinator and Music Minor Adviser. His music is recorded on the Centaur, Capstone, IMG Media, Innova, Frog Peak Music, and the University of Illinois CD labels; with research published in Contemporary Music Review, Organised Sound, Perspectives of New Music, and several issues of the Proceedings of the International Computer Music Conference. He is a member of the Society of Composers, Inc., the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States, International Computer Music Association, and Electronic Music Foundation (charter member). His music is licensed through BMI. He co-founded the ensemble SoundProof in 2009 with Patricia Strange (violin) and Stephen Ruppenthal (trumpet), and performs on viola, bass, and live computer processing.
