Abstract
A fluorescence lamp with wavelengths between 530-650 nm was used to activate two different isomers of substituted porphyrins (meso-tetra(N-methyl-2-pyridyl) and meso-tetra(N-methyl-3-pyridyl)). Each isomer was exposed to three different intensities (2.0, 4.5, and 8.0 W/m2) for a period of one hour. Later, the spectrum of each set of isomers was compared with an unexposed sample to determine if a particular light intensity enhances the activation process. In particular, the emission intensities and wavelength shifts were observed.
