About Brian Merrill

As the Assistant Medical Director for OneFifteen, a technology-enabled recovery ecosystem aimed at addressing the ongoing opioid crisis in one of its epicenters, Dayton Ohio and the Director of Residency Training for Wright State University’s Department of Psychiatry I work at the interface of clinical services and medical education. I have been training residents and medical students to practice addiction medicine for five years as our department and community sought to address addiction issues in our community.  I obtained my DATA 2000 waiver for prescribing buprenorphine in 2015 and have been actively treating patients in the community since that time. I supervise Wright State University Psychiatry residents during a longitudinal clinical addiction psychiatry experience and am working with department leadership to develop an addiction medicine fellowship. I have also been sought for clinical expertise for state-wide addiction education initiatives including a clinical advisory group funded by the 21st Century Cures Act for educating health care providers about addiction toward improving access to addiction services in the community. I am a PCSS MAT trainer for medical students and residents.  I became certified in Addiction Medicine in 2021.
