About Brenda Rivera

I am a senior Biology student at the University of Central Florida. I am currently working Dr. Anna Savage's lab where I am conducting a study on the amphibian pathogen dynamics of Jekyll Island, GA. I am specifically looking at Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, Ranavirus, and I plan on working with Dermomycoides spp. in the near future.
This past summer (2017) I participated in the first Summer Undergraduate Research at Florida (SURF). I worked in Dr. Kelly Rice's lab to further characterize the nos and srrAB genes in Staphylococcus aureus.
After my Bachelors degree I plan on obtaining my D.V.M. in order to become an exotics animal veterinarian. I am still considering working on a dual Ph.D./ D.V.M. program but I have not made a decision yet.
