About Begum Akay, M.D.

Begum Akay, MD is a board-certified and fellowship trained pediatric general and thoracic surgeon with additional training and certification in surgical critical care. She joined the department of Pediatric Surgery at Beaumont Children’s in 2013. Dr. Akay has been a committed member of the Beaumont community for more than over 10 years. She has served on various committees and serves as the associate program director for the General Surgery Residency. She is also the section head of Pediatric Surgery for Beaumont Hospital, Troy.
