About Aurelia Hartenberger

Aurelia Hartenberger is currently Adjunct Associate Professor of Music at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and Music Coordinator for the Lindbergh School District. She is a member of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Fine Arts Task Force, and is the creator of the web-based “Curriculum SUCCESS Tool” for Aureus Concepts. Dr. Hartenberger, a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, is immediate Past President of MENC: The National Association for Music Education, Southwest Division. She has served as a member of the MENC Benchmark Committee for National Standard 2, and the MENC National “Model Music School” Program. Her work has been cited in the 2003 MENC publication, “The Music and Literacy Connection.”

Dr. Hartenberger has presented clinics and workshops on Brain Research and Learning in ten states. Her recent work in music assessment was presented and published in the 2007 Proceedings of the National Symposium on Assessment in Music Education, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida – GIA Publications.

Dr. Hartenberger is also an avid collector of musical instruments, and she and her husband Jeff own the Hartenberger World Music Collection of over 1500 historical instruments. Presently, a few of the instruments are on display at the Sheldon Art Gallery/Museum in St. Louis, Missouri.
