About Asad Ghafoor, MD

There is more to people than the conditions we diagnose them with, and their emotional well-being is affected by what we do and how we do it. As a heart failure and transplant cardiologist, I like to get to know my patients well, so we can make good decisions together. It is very important to me to prioritize their input. Their perception of the care they receive is everything to me.

I earned my medical degree at Khyber Medical College in Pakistan. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Additionally, I received training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I am triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant. At Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, I provide right heart catheterizations, RV biopsies, coronary angiographies, post-transplant and post-LVAD care. I am particularly interested in treating patients with biventricular failure.

Beyond work, I like to plan activities with my family. There is nothing better than taking long road trips and living in the moment.
