Dr. Ariana Ochoa Camacho’s research specializes on the intersections of gender, race, migration and nationalism in the US. Her projects examine how Latinx/a immigrants negotiate and experience the hierarchies of race in US society. She utilizes feminist and community-based methodologies with a focus on marginalized experiences to highlight social inequities. Her previous publications have addressed media representation, health inequities, environmental justice, and immigration. Her ethnographic book focuses on citizenship, belonging, race and performativity among Colombianx migrants in New York.
