About Anya Hogoboom

Professor Hogoboom’s research focuses on laboratory phonology, which involves finding phonetic evidence that explains cross-linguistic phonological sound patterns. She has been awarded the Class of 2022 Professorship, the Jennifer and Devin Murphy Faculty Award (2021), a NACADA Region 2 Excellence in Advising Faculty Award (2020), and an Alumni Teaching Award (2018). She is currently serving as the Linguistics Program Director for Fall 2019 - 2022. Professor Hogoboom first taught at William & Mary from 2006 to 2010, and then returned in 2012 as an Assistant Professor.
