Abstract

Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico convened 15 award‐winning teachers in late June 2011 for the purpose of adding the voice of the master teacher to the ongoing statewide conversation on teacher evaluation. In their brief time together, the Golden Apple teachers considered the goals of teacher evaluation, as well as the attributes of effective teachers and how these attributes might be evaluated, based on both student learning results as well as by observation and reflection. This report summarizes their work, which represents the voice of some of New Mexico’s most effective teachers.
