My teaching is primarily in the special education area, focusing on assessment, instructional methods for students with learning and behavior disabilities, and instructional methods in mathematics for struggling learners. My scholarship over the past 15 years has been focused on the development and implementation of brief assessment tools (in an assessment model known as curriculum-based measurement, or progress monitoring) for mathematics in K-12 education.
