About Anne Hearon Rambo

Dr. Anne Hearon Rambo has a particular interest in the intersection of social justice and family therapy, especially as this applies to work with at risk children and youth. In 2019, she received the Solution Focused University’s BRIEF Contributions to Brief Therapy Award, and will present an all day workshop for AAMFT on preventing school shootings. She has written three books for professionals, and one for parents, as well as numerous book chapters and articles. She presents internationally on social justice and family therapy.

Dr. Rambo has worked with the M.S. in Family Therapy program for many years. One of her recent books, Doing Well while Doing Good (written with Drs. Tommie Boyd and Martha Marquez), focuses on the career options available to those with the M.S. in Family Therapy degree, and a recent book chapter, “Through the Storm,” in the second edition of Family Therapy in Global Humanitarian Contexts, tells of the NSU M.S. in Family Therapy program’s responses to Hurricane Irma and the Parkland school shooting. Teaches: Clinical Practice, Human Development, Assessment, Psychopathology, Supervision, School Based Family Therapy, Larger Systems and Social Justices, and Licensure/Credentialing Issues.
