About Andrea Halpern

I study perception and memory for nonverbal information, particularly music in both musicians and nonmusicians, using behavioral and cognitive neuroscience methods. One special interest is in auditory imagery: what is happening in the mind and the brain when people are replaying tunes in their heads? I am also interested in cognitive aging, both healthy and pathological, particularly with respect to mental processing of music and art.
