About Anastasia Rusina

Research Interests: My research interests are in the fields of theoretical and computational nano-optics and condensed matter physics. My research focuses on the properties of plasmonic metal and metal-semiconductor structures. One of the important results is an introduction of new efficient ways of nanoconcentration of the terahertz (THz) optical energy beating the diffraction limit and formulation of the principal limits for such concentration in tapered waveguides. The idea of THz field manipulation on the nanoscale bears a lot of promise for the fundamental research and applications. Some other projects include the modification of the polaron effect by surface phonons in quantum dots and derivation of important properties of spoof plasmons in a lossy metal. Recently I have been involved in the projects related to the photonic characteristics of metal-semiconductor arrays.
