About Amy Bowers, MSN, RN

Amy M. Bowers MSN, RN is an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Baccalaureate Day Program at St. Catherine.  She obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from St. Catherine University.  Amy’s clinical background covers various areas of nursing including: Medical Surgical, Emergency Department, Post-Partum, Newborn Nursery, Birthing and Lactation Education, Long term care, and pharmacy medication audits.  Her teaching interests include Educating mothers and children to thrive in their situation in life, Cultural Humility, Global studies with an emphasis on interprofessional educational opportunities for health science majors, increasing critical thinking in Baccalaureate nursing students, and finally improving health literacy in populations that are underserved within the healthcare system.    Amy teaches in the Nursing Baccalaureate day program as a clinical instructor for Juniors. She is involved in Lab and Simulation on both the junior and senior level. She acts as a faculty clinical liaison and on the senior level to support students through their clinical preceptorship, preparing for the NCLEX exam, and developing leadership skills.
