About Alison Novak

Alison N. Novak's work explores the intersection of age, digital media, and civic engagement. Primarily, she studies the Millennial generation and how media representations of the group impact their engagement in political, civic, and consumer practices. Drawing from a qualitative intersectional framework, she employs discursive analysis methodologies to examine Millennial engagement in areas such as social media use, protest, and branding. She is the author of "Network Neutrality and Digital Dialogic Communication," "Media, Millennials, and Politics: The Coming of Age of the Next Political Generation," and the editor of "Defining Identity and the Changing Scope of Culture in the Digital Age." Her research is featured in Wired Magazine, Redbook Magazine, and WHYY Radio.
