About Abed Elrahman Naser

Currently a 2nd year student, but a junior based off of credits, Abed Elrahman Naser attends the University of central Florida. He is a biomedical sciences major, and is a member of associations such as the American Society of Microbiology, Muslim Student Association, Pre-Professional Medical Society, and Students Organized for Syria (SOS). Abed is also a RAMP scholar at UCF, where he gets the opportunity to assist in various research. Even though research is of great interest to him, Abed is on the pre-med route and plans on attending Medical school. His goals for his remaining two years at UCF is to take advantage of every opportunity, and put himself in the best position to do well on the MCAT. While shadowing a gastroenterologist, and an orthopedic surgeon, his knowledge and love for medicine and using it as a means to help people has expanded. While many fields in medicine are of great interest to Abed, he would like to specialize in orthopedics, and specifically, orthopedic surgery. He has hopes one day to open his own clinic, and maybe one day, open free clinics in 3rd world countries that are in desperate need of quality medicine.
