About Aaron J. Gassmann

Aaron Gassmann is an associate professor in the Department of Entomology at Iowa State University, with research and teaching responsibilities in integrated pest management, insect resistance management, and plant-insect interactions.  His research focuses on interactions between insect pests and corn.  Dr. Gassmann joined the faculty at Iowa State University in 2008.  Prior to that, he completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Entomology at the University of Arizona, and the Department of Entomology at the University of California, Riverside.  He has a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a B.A. in Biology from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.   Dr. Gassmann has written 43 peer-reviewed publications, presented 35 invited seminars and symposia, coauthored 86 presentations at professional meetings, and contributed to more than 150 outreach publications and presentations.
