About Royce A. Hutson

Dr. Royce Hutson came to Boise State University in 2012 as a member of the School of Social Work faculty. He has a Ph.D. in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.S.W. from the University of Georgia, and a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago. Before coming to Boise State he taught at Wayne State University and spent a year as a visiting professor at Lebanese American University in Beirut. Dr. Hutson’s work has been presented to numerous governments around the world on topics related to armed conflict, human rights abuses, social exclusion and poverty. His research has a particular emphasis on how these phenomena are associated with other poor social outcomes with an eye towards development to address these drivers. Dr. Hutson is a specialist in survey methodology, armed conflict, human rights, and community development, and he has focused on these issues related to the United States, Haiti, Lebanon, and the Palestinian refugee camps.
