About Maureen A. Conard

Maureen Conard, Ph.D. is Professor of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences at Sacred Heart University and has served as Chair of the department. Before coming to Sacred Heart, Dr. Conard worked as a consultant for corporations and as a testing and validation specialist for a city in Connecticut. She encourages students to come and talk to her if they are interested in pursuing psychology-related careers in business settings.
Degrees: Ph.D., MA, University of Connecticut; BA Providence College.
Teaching responsibilities: Industrial-organizational psychology; Personnel psychology; Job analysis and competency modeling; Consumer psychology; and Critical thinking in psychology.
Dr. Conard's research focuses on the intersection between personality and performance in a workplace or school setting. She investigates the relationship between personality and stress, as well as the connection between personality and admission to university. Dr. Conard also examines how organizations select their personnel and how interruptions affect workplace performance.
