About Lynda B. Ransdell

Dr. Lynda B. Ransdell is a Professor and Head of the Department of Kinesiology.  Originally joining the faculty of Boise State University in 2004, she worked as Boise State kinesiology faculty and served as department head. Since 2012, Dr. Ransdell has held a variety of administrative positions including an associate dean role at Arizona State and as dean of health and human science colleges at Montana State University-Bozeman, Northern Arizona University, and Northern Illinois University. In her scholarly work, she has authored or co-authored over 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed publications, and has participated in sponsored projects totaling over $5 million.  Dr. Ransdell received her Ph.D. in Exercise and Wellness Education from Arizona State University.  Her research interests include faculty development, health benefits of physical activity, physical activity interventions, and female athlete development.  She also served two terms as president of the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport and was the vice president for the National Association of Kinesiology in Higher Education.
