Assistant Professor, Nursing
Julie joined St. Catherine University in 2022 as an Assistant Professor. She holds a Master of Nursing: Cardiovascular Critical Care from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing- Emory University in 1989 and a PhD from the University of Minnesota in 2016. Dr. Sabo's clinical practice has been a bedside clinician, CNS, and Director of Nursing Practice, Research, and Education. She served as the APRN Specialist at the Minnesota Board of Nursing prior to joining St. Catherine. She has expertise in healthcare policy, leadership, healthcare systems, nursing regulation, and has been active in APRN professional associations. Dr. Sabo was awarded the 2023 American Association of Nurse Practitioners State Advocacy Award for her policy and legislative work in advancing APRN practice in Minnesota. Dr. Sabo is the current (2023-2025) President of the Minnesota APRN Coalition.
