About Janice G. Schuster

I serve as Electronic Resources & Serials Librarian, tenured professor, at the Phillips Memorial Library at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.  

I fulfill all requirements of my faculty rank including teaching/performance of professional responsibilities, scholarship, and service.
 
My main professional responsibilities are to: 

*Coordinate the management of the life cycle of the library’s electronic resources and online serials.  
*Oversee the acquisition, organization, maintenance and evaluation of the print serials collection.   
*As a member of the Collections Services Department, I work collaboratively with my Collections Services colleagues and other staff on collections issues and participate as appropriate in departmental initiatives, projects, and meetings.   
*As an active participant in Research & Education, I provide assistance to the Library+Commons users by serving at the ResearcHub and in other ways such as individual consultations, etc. I participate in initiatives, trainings, activities, etc as appropriate and provide instruction (research education) when relevant and appropriate. 
*I support the Library+Commons by participating in initiatives, trainings, activities, etc.   

I engage in ongoing, active scholarship in my primary and related disciplines, e.g. electronic resources, serials, adoption, and other related areas. 

I provide service to the library, college, discipline, and community as appropriate.
