Abstract

RDA, RESOURCE DESCRIPTION & ACCESS AND CARTOGRAPHIC RESOURCES, by Paige G. Andrew, Susan M. Moore, and Mary Larsgaard. Chicago: ALA Editions, 2015. viii, 144 p. illus. ISBN 978-0-8389-1131-0. $62.00

Since the implementation of the cataloging code RDA: Resource Description and Access by United States national libraries in 2013, special formats catalogers have been looking for guidance and best practices in applying RDA to the materials they handle. Books such as Maxwell’s Handbook for RDAby Robert Maxwell1 and Making the Move to RDA by Chamya Pompey Kincy with Sara Shatford Layne2 offer general guidance on applying the code, including some application to materials other than books, but do not focus on the cataloging of cartographic resources. RDA, Resource Description & Access and Cartographic Resources is intended to fill this gap for catalogers of maps and other cartographic resources.
