About Cheri Folkner

Cheri Folkner joined the faculty at Albertsons Library as a Cataloging Librarian in 2004. She has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, an M.S. from the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin, and a Master's in Librarianship from the University of Washington in Seattle. Cheri works to provide access by cataloging and classifying library materials following national cataloging practices and contributing bibliographic records to OCLC, a national bibliographic utility. She establishes name and subject headings through the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC) and serves as Boise State’s primary contact and consultant for SACO (the subject authority component of the PCC) and NACO (the name authority component of the PCC). In addition, Cheri serves as a liaison for the Geosciences and Physics departments. She participates in numerous professional associations, including the American Library Association where she is currently a member of the Organization and Bylaws Committee of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS). She actively shares her knowledge and experience through publications and presentations.
