About Zachary C. Buie

Dr. Zachary C. Buie started at Boise State University in 2019 and is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Music where he teaches trumpet and music history. He received a Doctor of Music Arts in Trumpet Performance and Brass Pedagogy from the University of Utah and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Baylor University. Dr. Buie has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central America in venues such as the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Cadogan Hall in London, Auditorio de Zaragoza in Spain, and Lincoln Theater in Napa Valley among others. He can be heard on numerous CD's with various labels in classical, jazz, alternative, rock, soul, and funk styles. Dr. Buie performs regularly with the Boise Philharmonic, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Macao Orchestra in China, Opera Idaho, and the Helena Symphony in Montana.
