DECORATION (INCLUDING MOTIF AND ELEMENTS WHEN APPARENT): The rim area of the carinated bowl portion of the vessel has a negative continuous scroll motif repeated around the rim. The negative continuous scroll motif is outlined by large upper and lower hatched triangular scroll fill zones. The body portion of the carinated bowl has engraved circle and nested triangle elements repeated four times around the vessel, consistent with Ripley Engraved, var. Cash decorative elements. The lower part of the vessel, the bowl portion has hooked arm elements of curvilinear scrolls (Taylor Engraved). The upper and lower parts of the scroll fill zones have sets of hatched triangular engraved lines and negative ovals created by excised bracket elements.
