INTERIOR SURFACE TREATMENT: burnished on the rim and smoothed on the body

EXTERIOR SURFACE TREATMENT: burnished on the rim and smoothed on the body

DECORATION: The rim panel has an engraved pendant triangle motif (Thurmond 1990) repeated four times around the vessel. The central elements in the motif are engraved diamonds (repeated twice) that alternate with engraved circles (repeated twice); each central element has a small spurred circle at its center. The upper and lower pendant triangles are excised. The engraved motif is filled with a white kaolin clay pigment.
