About Professor Yvonne Brunetto

Professor Yvonne Brunetto, BA (UNSW), DipEd (UNSW), PhD (Griffith)
Presently I am the Head of Department of Management, Marketing and Human Resources within the School of Business and Tourism at Southern Cross University. My PhD (Griffith University) was achieved in 2000 with my thesis Implementing Policies within an Institutional Framework.
I undertake application research about the impact of workplace relationships (especially the supervisor-subordinate relationship (managers’ practices) on the behavioural responses and practical outcomes of employees (especially professionals). This research is being replicated in six countries: England, Scotland, Brazil, USA, Italy and Austria.
Other areas of research include examining the impact of workplace relationships on other types of employees such as professionals (engineers) and police officers.
Additionally I have successfully supervised numerous PhD candidates and presently supervise ten postgraduate students. I always specialise in teaching work-integrated learning in the postgraduate teaching space and HRM in the undergraduate arena.
In the past 12 years, I have published over forty research journal articles (of which a quarter are in the top ranking), four book chapters and twenty conference papers.
