About Yung Nietschke

Yung Nietschke is a research fellow in the Education and Development team at ACER. She has over 20 years’ experience working in international development, specialising in education policy, reform planning and evidenced-based program design. She has a Masters in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has led multisector programs for international donors, governments and the private sector, including the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the World Bank and UNESCO. Yung has conducted a number of donor investment reviews and long-term evaluations to support education reform in the areas of early learning, teaching quality, curriculum development and the tertiary education sector. Yung is a skilled facilitator with extensive experience in stakeholder management and institutional capacity building. Her international work spans across multiple countries in Sub Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific region.
