Professor
Dr. Youakim Kalaani graduated from Cleveland State University with MS and Doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering with concentration in power systems. He joined Georgia Southern University in 2006 and served as an Interim Chair for the newly established Electrical Engineering Department. He was instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive assessment process which resulted in successful SACS and ABET accreditations. He has over 19 years of academic experience with a record of achievements at all levels. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has been recognized for his services as an ABET Program Evaluator.
Teaching Interests: Electric generation and distribution systems, magnetics and electric machines, renewable energy.
Research Interests: Renewable energy, power systems, and optimization with emphasis on planning and operation
