Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the impact of employment status and food security on the COVID-19 pandemic in Texas through trend estimation. To achieve this, we analyzed weekly survey data from April 14 to July 5, 2021, focusing solely on Texas employment and food security trends. Our analysis took into account various factors, including gender, age, race, marital status, education level, income level, employment status, work type, and food sufficiency. We discovered that the trend of food security varied significantly depending on education levels, income levels, and employment types. Specifically, we found that family businesses and other types of employment had different impacts on the preparation and availability of food compared to each other. These findings suggest that employment and food security trends in Texas are complex and multifaceted, and highlight the importance of considering multiple factors when making predictions about future trends.
