Abstract

The old image of the libraries as places where one can check-out books and stay quiet as a mouse still lingers. In reality, today’s libraries are the centers of knowledge and knowledge dissemination, centers of technology and centers of business, dealing with not only purchasing but licensing of materials and services. In this new environment libraries are focusing on relevant instruction in research and research methods, issues of plagiarism, research assignments that lead to critical thinking, and team teaching with faculty.
