About Yenupini Adams

Yenupini Joyce Adams, PhD, RNC-MNN is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Kennesaw State University. Her clinical expertise is in Maternal/Newborn Nursing. Dr. Adams’ areas of research interest include Global Maternal Health/Maternal Mortality, Access to and Quality of Postpartum Care, and Knowledge of Warning Signs of Postpartum Complications. Her research broadly aims to improve maternal health, promote safe motherhood, and decrease maternal mortality among vulnerable populations in the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa, where the burden of maternal mortality is most severe. She is developing a robust research program at the nexus of postpartum complications and maternal mortality. Her current research spans two interrelated areas: 1) Midwives knowledge of postpartum care and complications, and their ability to manage potential complications and 2) Patients/Women’s knowledge of warning signs of postpartum complications.
