About Xiang (Shawn) Chen

We're now hiring both graduate and undergraduate students!

Xiang (Shawn) Chen received her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2016. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her lab designs multifunctional materials from nano- to meso-scale based on multiscale predictive computer simulations as well as collaborations with experiments. Her current research focuses on the dynamic interplay between materials microstructures and their transport properties.
