Bargaining with Variable Rhythms

Abstract

This note presents a modification of Rubinstein's model in which players can choose whether to be fast or slow in responding to their opponent's proposals. We characterize the effects of such choice on the outcome of the bargaining and give predictions on what rhythm will players choose in equilibrium.
