About Dr William Tibben

Dr Tibben received his MInfofTech-Res (Hons) from the University of Wollongong in 1999 and also his PhD (Community Informatics, Knowledge Management) from the UOW in 2011.
With a career staring in broadcasting, Dr. Tibben worked with Australian Broadcasting Corporation for 12 years to 1990 and then joined Samoa Broadcasting Service as a technical advisor until 1994.
Having joined the University of Wollongong in 1996 as a post-graduate student, Dr. Tibben commenced his academic career as lecturer with UOW in 2000.
Professional Activities and Affiliations:
• Board Member, Pacific Islands Chapter of the Internet Society
• 2011 ACCAN Grants Scheme Recipient, ‘Government ICT Purchasing – what differences do accessibility criteria make for people with disabilities?’
