Abstract
This report benchmarks the use of technology in city planning departments across the United States as of June 2014, suggests gold standards for using technology in planning, and predicts how technology trends will impact planning departments in 2015-2016. Emerging technologies are fundamentally changing how we plan, develop, and manage our urban areas. Planning professionals are increasingly being called on to adopt new technologies to plan, communicate planning concepts, and engage citizens in the planning process.
